Pinelands Regional School District is seeking a Substitute Custodian for the 7-3pm shift.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Black Seal License - Preferred, but not mandatory
  2. High school graduate preferred
  3. Previous custodial experience preferred
  4. Possess basic technological skills as required by the position
  5. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both orally and through written expression
  6. Must complete required health examination(s) and immunization(s)
  7. Must pass required criminal history background check
  8. Provide proof of U. S. citizenship or legal resident status

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the safety and well-being of students
  2. Uphold and enforce school rules, Board policies, and federal/state laws
  3. Communicate professionally within the school community
  4. The Custodian is directly responsible to the Educational Facilities Manager and/or Custodial Foreman for all school building custodial operations.  The Custodian conducts all phases of buildings and grounds sanitation under the direction of the Educational Facilities Manager and/or Custodial Foreman.  He/she also attains a working knowledge of all building operating systems
  5. Sweeps, vacuums and wet-cleans floors, cleans lavatories, etc., as assigned by the Custodial Foreman
  6. Moves custodial cleaning supplies, furniture and equipment within buildings as directed
  7. Light maintenance of heating, lighting and plumbing systems as required and paints as required (includes air filters, ceiling tiles and light bulb changes)
  8. Removes waste materials from all areas and prepares them for disposal
  9. Daily polices the perimeter of the building(s) for cleanliness, picks up trash.
  10. Removes snow and ice from entrances, steps and walkways
  11. Sets up equipment (tables, chairs, athletic gear, etc.) for school activities and community activities in the school
  12. Any other work assigned by the Educational Facilities Manager or the Custodial Foreman
  13. Becomes knowledgeable of all building operating systems and critical controls.
  14. Maintain regular attendance so as to ensure continuity of instruction and/or efficient operation of the school district
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or his/her designees

Environmental Demands:

  1. Occasional exposure to a variety of weather conditions
  2. Exposure to both heated/air conditioned and non-climate controlled environments
  3. Exposure to a building in which a variety of chemical substances are used for cleaning, instruction, and/or operation of equipment
  4. Potential exposure to a variety of childhood and adult illnesses
  5. Exposure to a workplace that is usually quiet, but can be noisy at times.
